Riverbed appoints new MD for India

Riverbed Technology has appointed Anil Batra as Riverbed's managing director of India. Batra brings over thirty years of operations and sales experience in the technology industry in both start-ups and Fortune 100 companies in the US and India. In his new role, Batra will be responsible for leading Riverbed's sales efforts within the region.

More than 9,200 organizations worldwide, across a wide range of markets, depend on Riverbed to understand, optimize and consolidate their IT infrastructure. Riverbed delivers hardware, software and virtualized solutions that overcome performance issues caused by distance, distributed computing, and ever-increasing amounts of data.

"I am delighted to be working with Anil again," said John Higgs, Vice-President of Sales for Riverbed in Asia Pacific. "He is an industry veteran with significant experience, and we look forward to his leading our sales efforts throughout India."

Batra will leverage his operations and sales experience to support Riverbed’s growth within the region. Batra joins Riverbed from Tejas Networks, where he was responsible for managing worldwide sales, marketing and support. Prior to Tejas, Batra was the vice president of Americas International Channels at Juniper Networks, where he led growth initiatives in both the enterprise and service provider markets. Batra also worked as President of Cisco Systems India, where he launched the regional division and was the executive responsible for sales, marketing and partner alignment.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
