Sloka Telecom launches Cost-Effective Broadband Solutions

Sloka Telecom has launched the cost-effective wireless broadband solutions targeted at Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) of emerging countries. Sloka Telecom offers these solutions in both licensed and unlicensed spectrums of 3.3 - 3.6 GHz and 5.8 GHz.

Sloka's solution provides last-mile access for broadband and telephony networks. The suit consists of Point-to-Multi Point access for wide area coverage, and Point-to-Point access for long-distance backhaul. The WiMAX solution provided by Sloka Telecom will reduced the cost of the equipment to Rs.2,700 for the ISPs in providing a new broadband connection. The Ethernet solution provided by Sloka will enable wide area coverage of 5 to 6 kms in urban areas and even cover more widespread geography for the rural areas. The WiFi solutions by Sloka Telecom will enable the Point-to-Point access up to 50 kms. These solutions provided by Sloka Telecom require very low capital and operating expenditures making them ideal to be adopted by the ISPs of emerging countries like India and many more.

On the occasion of the launch, CEO of Sloka Telecom, Sujai Karampuri, said, "India is poised to join the rest of the world in the broadband revolution, picking up good speed in the next 2-3 years. Sloka Telecom has also announced its range of solutions in the unlicensed spectrum allowing small and medium wireless ISPs to provide broadband subscription to its customers without having to pay for expensive frequency licences. This opens up a big opportunity for the players in the unlicensed spectrum to capture the market and make it big for themselves.
