Techcom penetrates into Karnataka

After consolidating its presence in Eastern India, Techcom has turned its gaze to the South Indian market by entering Karnataka. The company is penetrating with the range of mobiles from Rs.1,500 to Rs.4,000, with the business focus to reach mass market with innovative and stylish phones. The launch of the phones mark yet another business milestone for Techcom as it brings forth a world-class range of hand held products within the reach of consumers.

Speaking at the event, Sandeep Kumar Kedia, Director - Mobile Business, said, "Techcom's new handsets are in sync with the company's history of innovation and commitment towards bringing affordable quality products to life. Karnataka is one of the strongest markets for mobile phones and we have been receiving positive response from the same. With deeper penetration of mobile telephony into semi-urban and rural areas, the market is slated to grow further. We aim to sell about 1.25 lakh units in the first year in and around 2 million units in India."

Techcom is planning to invest about Rs.100 crore for brand building over the next three years nationally where Karnataka would be allocated about 10% of the budget. Techcom is also building aggressively on its after-sales network across India and will ensure adequate number of service centres across all regions for the convenience of its customers. Primarily, in mobile handsets, Techcom has already entered the Bihar, UP and West Bengal markets and Karnataka becomes the other significant part, especially pertaining to Southern India.
