Foxconn likely to set up Apple-dedicated production line in Brazil

Taiwan-based Foxconn is likely to establish a production line specifically for making Apple products in Jundiai City, Sao Paulo State, southeastern Brazil, China-based tech.sina.com cited Brazil-based news website Bom Dia Sao Paulo.

While Apple did not respond to the report, Foxconn did not deny their consideration of establishing a third production line in Jundiai where Foxconn has set up two production lines specifically for Apple and Sony products, the source pointed out. But Foxconn did not indicate whether the line is dedicated for production of Apple products, the source indicated.

Since supply of iPad 2 has fallen short of market demand, Foxconn's third production line in Brazil will help ease shortage, the source analyzed.

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
