Hyderabad to host the 20th WWW 2011

The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, in collaboration with the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad and the Institute of Information Technology, Bombay, will host WWW 2011, the 20th International World Wide Web Conference at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), from 28th March to 1st April, 2011. Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the World Wide Web Conference Director and inventor of the Web, will deliver a visionary keynote on "Designing the Web for an Open Society". WWW 2011 will be the meeting ground for the brightest minds and the broadest thinkers to discuss, debate and help set the future direction of the World Wide Web. All WWW 2011 participants will focus on the regional and global impact of expanding Open Web Platform for application development.

The theme for WWW 2011 is "Web for All" to promote the all-inclusive aspects of the web. This year's theme aims to highlight the need for expanding the horizons of the Web to become all inclusive and pervasive, reaching out to every human life.

The conference will feature a range of presentations on world-class research, as well as stimulating talks, workshops, tutorials, panels, and late-breaking posters including, three keynote speeches by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the 11th president of India; Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium; and Mr. Christos H. Papadimitriou, the C Lester Hogan Professor of Computer Science at UC Barkeley and the member of the National Academy of Sciences, The American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the National Academy of Engineering. The panel discussions will feature top CEOs from the industry, academia and key decision-makers from TCS, Infosys, Govt. of India, IIT Mumbai among others.

Conference attendees will include a blend of key influencers such as CIOs, IT directors and decision-makers from the public and private sector and researchers, technologists and developers from institutions and technology-driven businesses.
