IBM reaches newer heights

IBM has announced the successful implementation of SAP ERP solution and signing of a three- year Application Maintenance Services (AMS) contract for monitoring and management of this application for Ratnamani Metals and Tubes Limited. The implemented solution has helped Ratnamani reduce operational costs and enhance business operations with the help of experts from IBM.

Ratnamani adopted a world-class ERP solution to bring quality improvement in its business processes for production of a wide range of stainless steel welded / seamless tubes and pipes and carbon steel pipe that cater to almost all the emerging sectors like oil & gas, refineries, petrochemicals, process industries, power plants, fertilizer plants and water distribution across the globe. IBM completed the solution implementation in 2010 covering all processes in the Ratnamani manufacturing facilities in Gujarat.

"The SAP ERP implementation done by IBM has helped us streamline various operations within the organization like production, raw material and inventory planning, project management, quality management, finance, sales & marketing, etc. Consequently, production efficiency and therefore employee satisfaction has increased multi-fold. We are happy to work with IBM which has understood our needs and help us achieve our business objectives," said Prakash Sanghvi, Chairman & Managing Director, Ratnamani Metals & Tubes Ltd.

The solution has been implemented on IBM hardware comprising Power 6 servers, IBM BladeCenter server and storage device, using metals industry-specific project templates, which reduced the customization efforts, time for implementation and provided ease of work. Ratnamani has now extended its association with IBM by signing a contract for training of the staff at Ratnamani for application use as well as maintenance support of all the SAP ERP modules.
