LG and VMware to accelerate adoption of Employee-Owned Smartphones

VMware and LG Electronics have partnered to let employees use their personal smartphones and mobile devices to access corporate data, while it permits IT departments to manage the sensitive data on those devices with enterprise-level security and compliance.

Organizations today deal with two fundamental client-computing pain points - providing secure data access to an increasing number of mobile users, and managing the burgeoning diversity of data, applications and client devices within the enterprise. VMware partnering with LG comes at an opportune time to address this issue. With this feature, LG mobile users will be able to safely carry a single device for both personal and work use.

LG's use of VMware's end-user computing technology will help it grow its footprint in the enterprise sector. Initial efforts include enabling LG smartphones to securely run a work account in isolation from a user's personal account on a single mobile device. With this feature, LG mobile users will be able to safely carry a single device for both personal and work use. More and more employees in Asia-Pacific want the convenience of accessing corporate data on their personal device.

Through this partnership with VMware, LG will take mobile virtualization and cloud computing beyond the enterprise realm into the hands of millions of consumers, furthering our IT as a Service vision.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
