CommScope names Crenshaw as COO

CommScope has named Randy Crenshaw as Chief Operating Officer.

Crenshaw has served CommScope as chief supply officer since late 2009 and previously was executive vice-president and general manager of CommScope Enterprise Solutions. In his new role, he will lead CommScope's supply chain, manufacturing, quality, product development and management, and business unit functions. Crenshaw reports to Eddie Edwards, who had served as CommScope's chief operating officer prior to his January 2011 appointment as president and chief executive officer succeeding Frank Drendel, who remains as chairman of the board.

"Randy is a talented, experienced leader who brings considerable operational skill and a long track record of success to this position," Edwards said. "He will serve a key role as we build upon the company's many strengths and grow our business profitably through providing outstanding service and solutions for our customers."

In addition, CommScope has named Chris Story, based in Hickory, NC, and Mike Kelley, based in Claremont, NC, to expanded operational roles in Crenshaw's organization.

Story, who is senior vice-president of global manufacturing, has been selected to lead the worldwide operations team and is responsible for all manufacturing, operations planning and logistics. Kelley has been appointed senior vice-president of operations, with responsibility for all global operations of CommScope's Broadband and Enterprise businesses, plus the operations of the cable products portfolios across the company.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
