Oracle brings its association with Avnet to India too

Replicating the global relationship, Avnet Technology Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. has entered into a distribution agreement with Oracle for the Indian market. As per the agreement, Avnet will provide Oracle partners with channel support, including training, enablement, lead generation, co-marketing, technical integration, services and ongoing support.

In addition, Avnet will help Oracle increase its footprint in India and will enable partners to leverage Avnet's Solutions Path practices to gain specialization in the industries ideal for these solutions, such as the energy, financial, government, healthcare and retail markets, as well as data center technology expertise related to mobility, networking, security, storage and virtualization.

"This relationship with Avnet reiterates our ongoing commitment to enhance our distribution network and provide our customers affordable IT solutions that are scalable, easy to install and maintain. Avnet's established capability and technical expertise coupled with our cutting-edge products and solutions will help channel partners deliver effective solutions that address the business challenges of their end-user customers in India," said Cherian Varghese, Senior Director, Alliances and Channel, Oracle India.

Naresh Desai, General Manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, India, said, "Customers today are looking for a complete technology stack in which every layer is integrated to work together as a single system and we are seeking ways to rapidly deliver to these needs. Avnet's association with Oracle will enable our partners to quickly and cost-effectively achieve specialization and tap into fresh opportunities that exist out there."

To train and enable the resellers, Oracle and Avnet will conduct joint road shows and product knowledge sessions in ten cities. The cities would be a mix of the cities where distributor already has presence and would also include some new cities. These sessions will cover about 200 resellers serving customers in industries like auto ancillaries, chemicals, consumer goods, engineering & construction, non-banking financial services, industrial manufacturing, pharma, media & entertainment, professional services including IT/ITeS, real estate, retail, travel & transportation including logistics, gems & jewellery, among others.

Desai further shares with VARIndia that geo-expansion is too critical as tier-II SMB customers are meaning a lot of decent-sized opportunities. As of now, Avnet is decently present in eight cities and they would be adding ten more cities in this ongoing financial year. Through joint training initiatives, partner would be fully trained to position the solutions to the customers.
