ZyXEL offers a range of IPv6-compliant Products and Solutions

ZyXEL Communications has announced its progress concerning IPv6 readiness. Its range of products undergoing IPv6-compliant certification include ADSL2+ routers, 11n ADSL2+ gateways and VoIP Internet Access Device (IAD), as well as 11n VDSL2 gateways, which are targeted to confirm compliance within this year.

To support an increase in inquiries from ISP and Telco customers for solutions, the networking company stated it has been accelerating its development of IPv6 feature products. ZyXEL informed it currently supports three technologies for IPv6 deployment, a dual-stack approach, along with 6rd and DS-Lite tunnelling to meet requirements for different implementation scenarios. Additionally, with solid software capability, the company has also developed its own IPv6 software stack which can be applied to a wide range of products and solutions.

It further stated that, due to features mandatorily built into the IPv6 protocol, people can benefit from more efficient and flawless mobile connectivity with this enhanced Mobile IP performance, higher security to protect integrity, authentication and confidentiality over the new IP communication and better Quality of Service (QoS), while time-sensitive data contents, such as video and audio contents like VoIP and videoconferencing, will be primarily processed to avoid annoying sluggishness.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
