Cisco appoints new Sales Head for its SP Business

Cisco has announced that Sanjay Rohatgi has been appointed as Senior Vice-President - Sales and the leader for Cisco's Service Provider business across the India and SAARC region. In this role, Sanjay will lead the telecom vertical business for Cisco, driving the overall growth strategy and sales operations for this high priority sector.

Sanjay will focus on IP-NGN (Internet Protocol - Next-Generation Networks), mobility solutions, adoption and on driving traction for Cisco's data center and cloud computing platform, collaboration solutions, video technologies for customers in this vertical. His mandate also includes the partner and go-to-market models to help Cisco's key customers in the vertical create and take to market, unique and differentiated value-added services, based on Cisco technology.

With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Sanjay has been with Cisco in a variety of leadership roles over the last seven years and most recently, he was the Country Manager/GM - Sales for Cisco Systems Indonesian Operations. Under his leadership, Indonesia became the third-fastest growth country in APAC and was also awarded "Wireline Vendor of the Year - 2010" by Frost and Sullivan. Before his stint in Indonesia, Sanjay was responsible for SP business for Asia region within Cisco. Sanjay's expertise pans across international sales and business development, product marketing and management and R&D roles, with the leading MNCs.

Prior to Cisco, Sanjay was with Nortel as Director Business Development for Optical Ethernet for the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this, Sanjay has worked with Telstra in Sydney and British Telecom in the UK.
