BESU ties up with Metallurgic Systems

Bengal Engineering and Science University - Shipper (BESU) has joined hands with Kolkata-based software firm Metallurgic Systems for research work in the field of mobile phone interface enabled healthcare. This will make healthcare services affordable to rural population. Metallurgic Systems is one of the first private firms to come forward and fund collaborative research projects with BESU.

With this research, BESU looks at exploring the possibilities of using a portable mobile phone interfaced devices. The device will transmit medical data and images to doctors to determine the course of future treatment and at reduced costs. It will help reduce ultrasonography costs for rural populace at 2-3 per cent of existing costs.

Metalogic-BESU Software Innovation and Design Centre will be set up on the BESU campus.
