Infosys plans campus in Gujarat

Infosys is planning to open an IT centre in Gujarat. N R Narayan Murthy, Chairman & Chief Mentor, Infosys said, "We are yet to get land, once the Gujarat government takes a decision, and I am sure that they will, we would look at the possibility of starting a centre here."

The Infosys mentor is to meet the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and is likely to discuss the company's plans to set up a centre in the state.

"A senior executive of Infosys has met us on a couple of occasions to explore the possibility of setting up a centre here. We are not providing land at concessional rates to anyone, " a top state official said.

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India.
