Mplex Networks chooses Motorola Mobility in India

The high-quality digital set-top, HM-STB100LC from Motorola Mobility India Private Limited, has been deployed by Mplex Networks (Formerly Aerolex CableNet) as a key component for their intuitive, reliable and secure video and broadcast network. Motorola's set-top technology advances Mplex Networks' video experiences for their large subscriber base in Karnataka, India.

In a highly compact design, Motorola's HM-STB100LC supports a wide range of middleware and software interfaces, as well as multiple conditional access systems (CAS). Building on its experience in the video and broadband communications industry, the HM-STB100LC digital set-top was specially designed for systems that need to deliver secure video and broadcasting services over digital video broadcasting (DVB)-compliant cable TV networks. It supports a wide range of video streaming rates and most audio/video formats.

"As consumers in India seek a differentiated, multimedia viewing experience, there is a need for service providers to offer converged experiences over secure and reliable video and broadcasting networks," said Kevin Keefe, VP & GM - Sales, Asia-Pacific Home Business, Motorola Mobility.

The Motorola HM-STB100LC digital set-top includes a standard SmartCard interface, flexible memory footprint and a 200+ MHz processor, which allows it to process video streams quickly and efficiently with minimal latency.

"We believe Motorola's highly intuitive and reliable HM-STB100LC digital set-top will help us deliver a more robust video and television experiences to Indian consumers. We are also planning for the initial launch of HD services using the HMT 210E HD STB from Motorola as we take our video services to the next level which will be the key to our growth,” said Prataap Wadhwa, Managing Director, Mplex networks.
