Asus introduces ASUS X101-An Ultra Thin Netbook

ASUS has introduced ultra-thin netbook ASUS X101 which runs on Intel's MeeGo Operating System for easy web usage and multimedia playback and is powered by the Intel Atom processor N455 CPU.

"The new design and style of the lightweight ASUS X101 Super Thin Netbook will definitely enhance the customer experience. We have also integrated the consumer's productive needs with his lifestyle requirements to enrich our customers' experience. I am sure this new offering will bring in substantial traction," said Alex Huang, Country Head, ASUS Technology (India).

“Intel, along with its OEM partners like Asus, is bringing computing to first time buyers in the Indian market by making personal computing more desirable and affordable. These new Asus netbooks offer a fast, rich and intuitive computing experience and comes pre-loaded with applications for email, social networking, entertainment and education,” said Prashanth Adiraju, Director, New Platforms Business Group, Intel South Asia.

Weighing under 1 kg, this 17.6mm thin Netbook features 10.1-inch LED-backlit monitor and offers Super Hybrid Engine (SHE), it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth for network and wireless connectivity. ASUS X101 is preloaded with Cloud Storage (Drop box) for free to access and comes with the built-in camera of all the video conferencing requirements.

The new offering also has the capability to deal with multiple instant messaging accounts and some of the popular social networking sites are pre-integrated on MyZone as well. The MRP of this is Rs.12,499/-.
