Blue Coat Systems announces new President & CEO

Blue Coat Systems has announced that Gregory S. Clark has been named president, CEO and a member of the board of directors, effective upon the commencement of his employment with Blue Coat by September 15, 2011. Clark will succeed Michael J. Borman who has departed as president and CEO and as a director.

"Greg is a proven leader with a track record of driving growth and shareholder value. Greg has the right combination of technical depth, market insight and managerial skills to enable Blue Coat to capitalize on its strong franchise in Web security and WAN optimization," said David W. Hanna, Chairman of the Board, Blue Coat.

Greg Clark said, "I am looking forward to joining Blue Coat and leading the team to expand Blue Coat's market leadership. It is a great company with a long heritage of innovation, a terrific portfolio of assets and an impressive customer base."

The Blue Coat board has named board member Carol G. Mills as interim CEO until Clark's arrival. Mills has held executive positions at technology companies including CEO of Acta Technology, EVP at Juniper Networks, and VP/GM at HP.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
