Gild brings back the focus on talent

Gild has provided an opportunity to win the crown of India's first Tech Idol. The top developers, determined according to Gild evaluation methods, will progress through each round to compete for the grand prize comprising of a week-long VIP trip that includes flight, accommodation and spending-money, to Silicon Valley, USA, home of Oracle, Facebook, Google, Twitter and LinkedIn, and receive special tutorials from some great technology professionals.

Focusing on "what you know" rather than "who you know", the competition emphasizes that skills also matter, and not merely schools or qualifications. Tests will be answerable in any major programming language. The competition is scheduled in three rounds. Round 1 will be held from 5th to 16th September, 2011; Round 2 from 19th to 25th September, 2011; and Round 3 will be held from 28th September to 5th October, 2011.
