Samsung strengthens Its Dual SIM Portfolio in India

Samsung has launched three new Dual SIM handsets which include Samsung Star II Duos (C6712), Metro DUOS (C3322) and Metro C3752.

Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Mobile & IT, Samsung Electronics, said, "The Dual-SIM market continues to be a strong focus area for us. Consumers increasingly want to stay connected with friends and family through SNS, IM and messaging while being on the move. These new dual SIM offerings from Samsung meet their needs through convenient messaging features as well as Dual SIM Standby feature that allow them to segregate their personal and professional lives. We are looking at the Dual SIM portfolio contributing at least 25 per cent to our full year mobile handset sales this year."

The new Samsung Star II Duos comes with the power of Dual SIM Standby along with instant messaging, easy access to mobile applications and business related features. Its SoundAlive feature enhances earphone sound with 3D effects, 3.2-mega pixel camera, FindMusic application that identifies songs that are unknown to the user and the latest Bluetooth 3.0 for the fastest and most secure file transfers besides enjoying music on wireless headset. It comes with a 30MB internal memory, and a powerful 1200mAh battery.

The phone also offers connectivity to various Social Networking sites with the feature of Social Hub that integrates social network and mail contacts with their current status right on the phonebook. With the Wi Fi connectivity (802.11b/g/n), users can upload photos and videos to sites like Facebook in an instant. The mobile's 16GB expandable memory support, Smart TouchWiz 3.0 interface, Powerful Online Service, including Native SNS, Multi IM and Push Email with ActiveSync enhance your business savvy on the go. Samsung Star Duos II is priced at Rs.6,920/-.

The Samsung Metro DUOS (C3322) supports dual SIM standby technology along with a classic metal design & multimedia features. The phone comes in 5.6cm display and features other multimedia options like MP3 player , FM radio, native client access to Facebook and Twitter and popular Instant Messengers like Yahoo, MSN, GTalk & Facebook Chat. Out of these, Yahoo and MSN are Push Messengers that run in the background and keep you available to chat 24/7. Push Mail is available through the Activesync application embedded in the phone and its external memory can be expanded up to 16GB through microSD card slot. The connectivity options of the phone include EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, WAP2.0/HTML Browser and USB 2.0. Its 1000 mAh battery gives up to 10 hours talk-time. The Metro DUOS is priced at Rs.4,240/-.

Additionally, the Metro DUOS comes with an offer from Tata DoCoMo. The offer gives the customer an all-round benefit of free voice (500 minutes to a Tata DoCoMo subscriber), Data (1GB) and SMS (500 SMSes to any network). This comes with three months validity.

The Metro 3752 comes in a slider form factor, sports a 6cm TFT display and has a 3-mega pixel camera capable of capturing sharp images. It carries the complete feature set of the Metro DUOS with the addition of 8 regional languages display support. The 900 mAh battery in Samsung Metro C3752 is capable of delivering a talk-time of around 11 hours. Samsung Metro C3752 is priced at Rs.5,270/-.
