Synology brings DiskStation DS411 NAS server

Synology has launched DiskStation DS411, a 4-bay NAS server that offers high performance with flexible and secure file sharing and backup solution for office and workgroup environment.

Tested under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, the DS411 delivers an average read and write speed at 105 MB/sec and 47 MB/sec respectively. When operating under load, the DS411 consumes power at an energy efficiency rate of 29.7 watts. Energy is reduced to 11.0 watts when hard drives enter hibernation mode to further lowering users' energy bills. The DS411 is equipped with data security mechanisms, including comprehensive Window ACL support, shared folder privilege; HTTPS secure connection, FTP over SSL, etc. The DS411 is also secured by firewall, IP auto-block, and enforced password strength to prevent hacking.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
