Tata Steel selects Microsoft Office 365 to improve Collaboration, cut costs

Microsoft UK PLC, Microsoft BV and Capgemini UK have been selected by Tata Steel in Europe for a project to migrate its two existing email systems to a new Europe-wide standard platform based on the Microsoft Office 365 cloud computing productivity suite.

Shreekant Mokashi, Chief Group Information Services, Tata Steel said, "This move to an enterprise-ready cloud communications platform will significantly improve our ability to respond rapidly to the challenges and opportunities of today's marketplace. It will also be a significant contributor to our plans to reduce our overall IT operating costs. We found the joint Microsoft and Capgemini proposal convincing both technically and commercially and we look forward to gaining the many benefits of the new solution with speed."

The two companies have a long history of customer collaboration through Capgemini's sector-specific expertise and Microsoft's innovative solutions to meet customer needs in the growing domain of cloud computing.
