Tata Teleservices, Vanu enters deal

Tata Teleservices Ltd. has entered into a deal with Vanu Inc. to supply radio access network solution for deployment in the Tata DoCoMo network. Dr. Vanu Bose, President & CEO, Vanu, Inc. said, "The introduction of our solution will enable Tata DOCOMO to provide a superior offering to their customers. Our focus is on providing solutions for areas which are not possible to cover cost-effectively with currently available technology. We use our software-radio technology to rapidly innovate solutions for these applications."

The deployment of the Vanu's radio access network solution is said to raise coverage and capacity of the network and also upgrade the return on investment (ROI) of TTL. The solution is to approach the challenge of cost-effective enterprise, SME and hotspot in-building coverage requirements in the 1800 MHz frequency band. The commercial contract comprises supply, deployment and managed services of the network.

AG Rao, Executive President, Enterprise Business and Technology, Tata Teleservices said, "We have chosen Vanu's products and technology to address challenges that conventional technologies cannot, as part of our continuing attempt to provide better service quality to our customers in urban areas.
