Hitachi GST showcases its 4TB Hard Drives

G-Technology by Hitachi has introduced its first 4TB hard drives at IBC 2011 in its two-drive, RAID 0, G-RAID solution. The 8TB G-RAID demo shows how G-Technology is making digital production faster, super-sized and affordable.

G-Technology will begin shipping its 4TB-based G-RAID and single-drive G-DRIVE solutions with eSATA, FireWire 800 (FireWire 400 via cable) and USB 2.0 ports in October. First in a family of solutions, the company's Thunderbolt 4TB-based G-RAID and G-DRIVE solutions will ship in Q4.

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India.
