Samsung GALAXY S II reaches 10 Million in Global Sales

Samsung has announced that the Samsung GALAXY S II (Model: GT-I9100) has achieved 10 million global channel sales, doubling from five million in just eight weeks.

The GALAXY S II is a 8.49mm dual-core smartphone that combines SuperAMOLED Plus viewing experience, all on Android. The smartphone is seamlessly integrated to provide instant access to music, games, e-reading and social networking services.

J K Shin, President & Head, Samsung's Mobile Communications Business, said, "Since its launch in late April 2011, the GALAXY S II has seen continued sales success, demonstrating Samsung's industry-leading capabilities in - and commitment to - the smartphone market. Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India.
