Zomato.com launches Events Section in Delhi NCR

Zomato.com has launched its Events section for Delhi NCR with over 250 upcoming events under various categories such as arts & literature, music & dance, food & drink, entertainment, to name a few. The Events section on Zomato.com will help current and new customers find that place to "get a life" in their city.

Zomato.com's new Events section offers the same experience, by providing far more detailed content combined with a visual interface and experience compared to similar portals in India. Users can discover events happening in their city by date, view event details, location & timings, pictures and also view similar events and restaurants nearby.

Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO, Zomato.com, said, "It has been a while since we have been serving our huge customer base by helping them make their eating out and nightlife choices. We have launched our Events section as we realize these are the same customers who would also like our services to help them choose their destinations to hang out and enjoy. Our focus has been user-centric and we are only including events, which makes sense to the end-user. For example, if a restaurant is trying to pull off a marketing gimmick by calling a new dish in the menu an event, we have not put it in the section. We will be launching our events sections for Mumbai and Bangalore shortly and I am confident they will all be very well received like all our offerings have been so far."

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
