Honeywell Introduces New Mobile Computer for APAC

Honeywell has announced the introduction of the O5100 mobile computer, an entry level product specially designed for end users in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The O5100 expands Honeywell's mobile computer portfolio and fills a gap within the low-to-middle market segments.

Designed with ergonomics in mind, this pocket-sized mobile computer features an angled engine laser or imaging that allows users to view the screen while scanning a bar code. The 2.4" QVGA color touch screen option enhances the user experience for Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system based graphical applications.

"Our market research has found that the growth of retail in India has raised the bar for data accuracy and operational efficiency. Mobile computers have gradually replaced traditional manual inputs for data collection and are widely adopted in these types of enterprises,"said, Shailesh Deshmukh, Country Manager of Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "Honeywell's O5100 provides mobile workers with an optimal blend of ergonomics, performance, and reliability. While engineered to support rapid batch data collection, the O5100 can be configured with optional 802.11b/g and Bluetooth wireless technology, providing users with access to critical data throughout the enterprise and facilitating efficient wireless connection to peripheral devices.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
