RailTel appoints new MD

RailTel Corporation has appointed R. K. Bahuguna as their new Managing Director. Prior to his new assignment, Bahuguna was working in RailTel as Director - Network Planning & Marketing.

He brings with him vast experience of around 29 years in the fields of signalling and telecom. As a Director, he has been instrumental in making RailTel as one of the key telecom organizations.

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India. Earlier Sharp was a known brand in terms of technology but it’s position become negligible with the fastest technology and pricing structure of SAMSUNG, LG and Sony.
