Transworld Group bags 3 awards @ MALA 2011

Transworld Group has bagged three coveted awards at the second edition of MALA 2011 (Maritime & Logistics Awards 2011). Shreyas Shipping and Logistics, a Transworld Group company was awarded 'Shipping Line of the Year - Coastal Operator', Balaji Shipping Lines FZCO - another group company won 'NVOCC of the year'. The group was further acknowledged amongst the key stakeholders at the event, when Ramesh Ramakrishnan, Chariman, Transworld Group was recognized as 'Maritime Personality Of the Year 2011'.

The awards were presented by K. Mohandas, Secretary Shipping, Dr. S.B Agnihotri, Director- General Of Shipping, S. Hajara, CMD of Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) to Transworld Group at the event.

Ramesh Ramakrishnan, Chariman, Transworld Group said, "We are pleased to be recognized as India's leading Shipping and Logistics group. The All-India MALA awards reinforce our commitment to the industry at large and will further encourage us to seamlessly offer end-to-end solutions in Shipping and Logistics segment."

The All-India Maritime and Logistics Awards (MALA) 2011 witnessed the industry veterans, from India and abroad. Representatives from all segments of the cargo, maritime and logistics trade were present.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
