Aksh to roll MAGIQ
Aksh has announced that it is all set to launch MAGIQ, a flat drop cable which offers a compact and light weight, self supporting fibre optic design in an easily accessible construction.
The small, lightweight flat drop cable, MAGIQ is said to offer a solution for the smaller fibre counts that are needed in the final sections of an optical network, particularly in a fibre to-the-premise (FTTP) installation. The Buffer tube fibre care allows easy access in a fibre design. The rugged, flat construction of the MAGIQ cable is specifically designed for self-supporting aerial developments and is fully compatible with type of aerial hardware allowing faster, lower cost installations. The superior crush resistance and durability of the MAGIQ cable makes it robust enough for below grade installations in ducts or open trenches. Since the cable is metal free, there is no electrification problem.
MAGIQ claims to be a product with revolution in gel technology. The gel disappears the moment it is rubbed with the fingers. It delivers performance with in the temperature range of -30 to +70 degree Celsius. FRP strength member is coated with super-bond for adhesion to HDPE sheath, which transfers the load on the sheath to FRP rods during installation and operation of cable. It is compatible with industry standard wedge clamps and closure strain reliefs. It is optimized for fibre counts 1,2,4,6 and 12 for minimizing development costs. The cable is self supporting and hence does not need any metal wire support.
