Gemalto has showcased a large range of solutions for Mobile Financial Services (MFS) at CARTES & IDentification 2011. The collection of Gemalto software applications, secure devices and services are designed to provide financial institutions and mobile network operators with an end-to-end approach to deploying new consumer services with secure and flexible access anytime, anywhere.

Gemalto specifically developed the "Enter the Mobile Financial Services Experience" hands-on demo lab for visitors to try out these applications at the CARTES & IDentification show.

Mobile handset penetration continues to rise exponentially with 5.4 billion handsets expected to be in circulation by 2015, and ever increasing sophistication in mobile apps to meet new consumer demands. The mobile phone is also emerging as a key tool for bringing financial services to some 2.5 billion adults today considered 'financially excluded' especially in developing nations. A recent Gartner report positions money transfer and mobile payment among the top 10 mobile applications in 2012.
