IFAW chooses HP to power Global Efforts
HP has announced that the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has chosen HP Converged Infrastructure to support its operations in 15 offices around the world with improved technology performance to meet demands of operating global charity efforts.
The new data center now includes HP Integrity RX2620 and RX6600 servers running on HP-UX to effectively support critical business applications.
IFAW's infrastructure also includes HP Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVA), designed to handle its growing storage requirements as a result of their donor database application. The storage arrays allow IFAW to increase storage utilization, keep the database running 24/7 and adapt quickly to changing business conditions. The EVA's HP Command View Software eases management, ensuring less time spent on maintenance and administrative tasks.
As part of the relocation, IFAW upgraded its network backbone by standardizing on the HP Networking 5400 zl switch series. IFAW uses this networking technology along with HP 2510 and HP 2810 switch series to ensure that its offices around the world are connected and can scale as business demands peak.
