Nokia rolls out window based Smartphones in India

Nokia has launched Nokia Lumia family of smartphones based on Windows Phone in the country. The Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 will be available in select retail stores across key cities and towns in mid-December. Both devices will be available for pre-order starting early December.

Nokia Lumia 800 features leading imaging capabilities and new signature experiences. It also offers Nokia's social and Internet performance with one-touch social network access, easy grouping of contacts, integrated communication threads and Internet Explorer 9. The Nokia Lumia 710 can be personalized with interchangeable back covers and thousands of apps.

It signals our intent and agility. It also reflects our commitment to the Indian consumers in bringing to them our latest in smartphones. Moreover, The Nokia Lumia smartphones also has several apps preloaded on to them such as Contacts Transfer and App Highlights, which showcases top apps and is integrated seamlessly with the online Windows Phone Marketplace.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
