Samsung flags off 'Wheels of Hope' Programme

Samsung India has flagged off its new social campaign - Samsung 'Wheels of Hope' Project - the Company's endeavor to spread knowledge on new age technology products and the world of the internet to students from the lesser privileged sections of society. Flagged off by J. S. Shin, President & CEO Samsung South West Asia in the presence of young students, the Samsung Wheels of Hope bus started it journey to reach out to students studying in around 35 MCD and government-aided schools in Delhi/ NCR region between now and December 2011.

The Samsung Wheels of Hope bus, which is a converted computer lab with Samsung Notebooks /netbooks and tablets, gives these children their first exposure to the world of computers and the power of the internet .The children are also given a hands-on experience with the Samsung laptops and tablets in the bus .The Company will be scheduling morning and evening sessions for the students at their school premises and the Company hopes to reach out to around 7500 students in the first phase of the program .

J S Shin said, "Education is one of the key focus areas of Samsung's Corporate Social Responsibility program. Our new project, 'Samsung Wheels of Hope' aims to open the doors to technology for a number of young students who do not have access to computers and internet in their schools and at their homes .The program will provide students with their first exposure to laptops and tablets and an opportunity to experience the power of the internet - news, educational content etc using these gadgets. In 2012, Samsung aims to spread this initiative to many more cities and students all over the Country."
