Seagate among CES Innovation 2012 Design & Engineering Award Honoree

Seagate has been named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for GoFlex Satellite wireless mobile storage. Products entered in this program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 32 product categories.

Patrick Connolly, VP & GM, Seagate Branded Solutions said, "We are pleased to be recognized by the CEA with such an esteemed award to acknowledge innovation in engineering and design. With GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless storage, we wished to address a need in the market that had as of yet not been addressed. A first for the industry, the GoFlex Satellite drive extends the limited capacity of mobile devices by wirelessly streaming media without the use of an external power source. The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The Best of Innovations honor is awarded to the products with the highest judges' scores and will be featured in the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase at the 2012 International CES.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
