uMAX selects Alvarion 4G Wireless Broadband Network for Zimbabwe

Alvarion Ltd. has announced that uMAX has selected its 4Motion solution to the roll-out a sizeable 4G network in its capital Harare. uMAX has commissioned Alvarion's 4Motion solution to introduce Zimbabwe's first 4G network for the delivery of high-speed wireless broadband services to residential and business customers in the 2.5 GHz frequency.

uMAX will use Alvarion's 4G solution to deliver services such as VoIP, video-streaming and high-speed Internet. The deployment of Alvarion's end-to-end 4G solution is supposed to be designed to supply its residential and corporate customers with more advanced broadband services enabled through USB dongles and other indoor and outdoor Customer Premises Equipment. uMAX claims to be the first service provider to enable consumers and businesses access to such services in Zimbabwe.
