ESDS launches eNlight Cloud

ESDS has launched the Cloud Computing Platform- eNlight. It was formally launched by former captain of the Indian cricket team and Current Chairman of the Selection Committee, Kris Srikkanth.

Srikkanth in his speech said that the only way to success, in any field today, is through innovation and for a business' growth and more importantly, our country's growth, we must modernize and come up with unique ideas and products, without which, long term success is not possible. In the field of Information & Technology, Innovating constantly is the only option. And ESDS, with its eNlight Cloud Computing Platform, has not only given a path breaking innovation to India, but also to the entire world which will transform computing experience.

ESDS' CEO Piyush Somani explained the benefits of eNlight, with the first and foremost being the huge hardware costs it saves. With automation having taken over almost all the industries, an organization's upfront cost in hardware, equipments, servers etc is very high. But with ESDS' eNlight, the investment required for building up hardware is minimal, thus leading to substantial cost savings, with the funds available to be invested elsewhere. Another major roadblock that hits our country is our absolute need to Import China made IT Infrastructure and Hardware Equipment, thus making us totally dependent on them for our needs. This proves to be a deterrent for job creation, foreign investment and ultimately economic development, leading to increased outflow of foreign revenue. eNlight Cloud can take care of that dependency by reducing the need for hardware to the absolute bare minimum.

eNlight also features hosted Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaS) which will help in reducing the IT Infrastructure investment of companies on DR by 80%. The auto-scaling feature of eNlight allows VM's on the Disaster Recovery site to run with minimal resources. The sizing of the VM's of DR location can be kept minimal and the VM's will automatically scale up if Disaster Strikes the main Datacenter. Traditional DR setup results in equal investment in DC as well as DR setup, but eNlight guarantees savings of minimum 80% on the DR setup.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
