ITAO successfully Inaugurates IT EXPO 2011

ITAO has announced a lively inauguration of IT EXPO 2011 on 17th Dec. evening. Hon'ble Chief Secretary, Govt of Odisha, Sj. Bijay Kumar Patnaik, IAS was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Sj. P.K.Jena, IAS, IT Secretary, Dept. of IT, Govt. of Odisha as Guest of Honour, Sj Amar Babu, MD Lenovo as Guest of Honour. Hari Balasubramanian, President of COMPASS & CIITA was Keynote Speaker.


In his speech, the President ITAO has imparted his idea for a computer awareness programme for all panchayat level people to get the benefit of Govt. Programmes. Manoj Lalani, Coordinator gave ITAO's objects to take IT industry involvement in Odisha's IT development. ITAO's Secretary, Dayananda Ratho gave a picture of ITAO's plans to associate with Govt. of Odisha for setting up small scale hardware manufacturing units. He has also assured all cooperation from ITAO's side for a better IT development plans with Govt. Chief Secretary in his speech assured to regularly have a coordination meeting with ITAO members for different matters concerning IT development in Odisha. Finally ITAO Secretary thanked all the distinguished guests, sponsors, expo participants, media houses, ITAO members, event manager & all visitors at the EXPO.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
