Lenovo strengthens its tablet segment

Lenovo has announced that it is all set to go aggressively on the tablet segment to provide a fillip to its mobile internet-digital house vertical strategy. The tablet range is set to be expanded with the introduction of the Ideapad K1 10-inch and Ideapad A1 7-inch soon.

The tablet market is evolving at a very fast pace and "we see immense promise with inside the segment," said Amar babu, Managing Director, Lenovo, as he announced the launch of the android Honeycomb-based Lenovo Thinkpad tablet for the enterprise segment.

The tablet market is only beginning to pick up in the country. The projected sales this year is around Rs 2-25 lakh, but within two or three years, the segment is expected to cross 1.5 million units and account for over 15 percent of the PC business in the country

"We are also working on introducing the whole range of tablets across different platforms, operating systems and varied Windows-based tabs are being lined up next," Babu further said.
