MSI Kombustor Benchmark hosted

MSI is hosting a Kombustor benchmark competition from now until January 12, 2012. One has to run Kombustor's KMark mode with a graphics card of any brand and then upload the benchmark results to be entered into the draw for it.

Winners are supposed to be drawn every week and also have the chance to win a N480GTX-M2D15 graphics card. The first player to reach the specified benchmark score is said to win the grand prize of a WindPad 100W or N480GTX Lightning. The first player to perfectly match the specified benchmarking scores (both of the P-Score and X-Score) in two sections will receive a MSI WindPad 100W tablet PC or the N480GTX Lightning graphics card. The runner-up is believed to get the chance to win a full game voucher for Dirt 3.

MSI Kombustor is supposed to stress test a graphics card at the touch of a button. Kombustor also includes an ultra convenient benchmarking mode that allows gamers to simulate the realistic graphical effects of the most current games in under 3 minutes. The benchmarking routine uses the four most common special effects modes used in retail games. These include Fur Rendering for textures, Tessellation for more realistic game models, PhysX for improved physics, and Geometry Instancing, which makes the graphics come alive. Benchmarking these four special effects gives players a better idea of their graphics card's in-game performance. Benchmarking results can be quickly retrieved and uploaded to a dedicated webpage where they are compared with other gamers from around the world.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications.
