APG is expected to meet the demand for intra-Asia connectivity between South East Asia and North Asia.

Nobuyuki Yanaginuma, Associate Senior Vice President, NEC said, "We are honored to have been selected as the supplier of the APG system and firmly believe that once completed, APG will have a significant impact and NEC's state of the art advanced Digital Coherent 40G SLTE's and OADM Branching Units will contribute to the economies of Asia and its surrounding countries. We thank each participating member of the APG consortium for their trust and support and look forward to completing this landmark project.
