Plustek rolls out SmartOffice PS406

Plustek has enriched SmartOffice ADF scanners family with adding SmartOffice PS406 that comes 100 sheet ADF. Connected with USB 2.0, it claims that it does not require any warm-up time. With speed up to 80 images per minute and a duty cycle of up to 4,000 sheets, this high-volume, sheet-fed scanner is said to make it easy to capture all the critical documents including the thick embossed ID cards and driving licences.

SmartOffice PS406 with the Plustek DocAction, Plustek DI Capture, OCR and BCR software is expected to usher a new era in the compact ADF range. Its in-built TWAIN and Windows WIA drivers enable the scanner to be compatible with virtually any imaging software.

SmartOffice PS406 is supposed to consume less than 0.5 watts in standby mode and while operating, power consumption is less than 24 watts. It meets the ErP and Energy Star standard certification. The scanner comes with pre-set four custom buttons for up, down, scan and standby. Apart from this, the advanced paper handling technology is said to offer ease of document feeding. The scanner also detects page size and deskews images automatically.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
