Samsung ships 35 million units

Samsung has announced that it has shipped 35 Million Mobile Units last quarter thereby reporting sales of 47.3 trillion won ($42.14 billion) and an operating profit of 5.3 trillion won ($4.7 billion).

The Mobile business of the Samsung has contributed roughly 40% of the total sales and half of its operating profit ($2.3 billion).

Robert Yi, Sr. VP, Samsung said, "Despite intensified competition amid the global economic slowdown, our telecommunications businesses continued to post solid earnings with an enhanced line-up of high-end smartphones, resulting in higher average selling price."

IFFCO selects KPIT Cummins to implement OTM

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE IFFCO has announced that it has selected KPIT Cummins to strengthen its supply chain execution using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM). As part of this strategic engagement, KPIT Cummins will build a comprehensive transportation management platform to integrate IFFCO group's supply chain processes as well as those of its external carriers. This is one of the largest OTM implementations in the Middle East and will be completed in 14 months. The scope of this multidimensional transformational project includes streamlining of all logistics and transportation - domestic and international - across IFFCO's entire supply chain from inbound raw and packing materials to finished goods distribution.
