Wipro Technologies granted patent by USPTO for its StORM

Wipro Technologies has announced that it has been granted a patent by USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for its StORM (Statistics Operations Research Matrix) methodology. Wipro 'StORM' is a system and method for software test suite optimization, achieved by generating an Orthogonal Array (OA) for software testing using the mathematical principles for OA.

This method is said to result in reducing the number of test cases many fold downwards and at the same time increases the effectiveness of the testing process, thus reducing the testing cycle and effort required. Wipro has reduced test cases by 75% from the original suite for a large telecom equipment vendor. The resulting efficiency has implied increased coverage and reduced effort.
