Shailesh Rao leaves Google; to move to Twitter

Google's Managing Director - Media and Platforms, JAPAC, Shailesh Rao has resigned from the company, according to market buzz. Twitter Inc. is believed to hire Shailesh Rao.

Shailesh Rao joined Google in March 2005 as the Director of local search. In 2007, Rao was named the Managing Director of Google India. Prior to this, he was a VP - Products at Yodlee. In January 2012, Shailesh Rao was named the Internet Professional of the Year 2011 at IAMAI's 2nd India Digital Awards.
