TAIT Kaspersky IT cup 2012 coming up

The IT industry's Premier sporting tournament kicks off next week & is set to see leading IT companies clash for the winner's title. The TAIT Kaspersky IT cup 2012 kicks off on 4th Feb with the first match being played between HP & TAIT. Sponsored by leading Anti-Virus company Kaspersky, The tournament will be played in the popular T20 format. This is the 19th year of the tournament. 8 teams are playing in 2 groups are participating this year.

Each team is said to play 3 league matches in their group & the top 2 teams in each group go on to play the semi-finals. The winners at this stage will then compete for the grand trophy.

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India. Earlier Sharp was a known brand in terms of technology but it’s position become negligible with the fastest technology and pricing structure of SAMSUNG, LG and Sony.
