India's First Telecom Incubator to take off

Startup Village, India's first public-private partnership incubator is ready to take off from Kerala in the second week of April with a projected investment of Rs. 100 crore and the aim of nurturing over 1,000 student start-ups.

Startup Village is supposed to come up in Kochi, looking to emulate the famed Silicon Valley incubators and transform Kerala into 'Silicon Coast'. The project is said to kick-start the search for the billion-dollar company to rise out of an Indian campus.

Shri. Oommen Chandy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala flanked by a host of eminent people from the industry and the Government has launched the dream project.

Kiran Karnik, Former President, NASSCOM; Dr. H. K. Mittal, Department of Science & Technology (DST); Shri. Rajan Mathews, Director General, Cellular Operators Association of India; Abhishek Goyal, CEO, UrbanTouch.com; and Shri. Sanjay Vijayakumar, Chairman, Board of Governors of Startup Village were also present at the event.
