Microsoft ties up with Avnet-Redington

Microsoft India has appointed Avnet and Redington as its Value-Added Distributors in the country. Under this tie-up, Avnet will provide complete solutions to Microsoft’s value-added resellers for “Virtualization & Management and Identity & Security” and Redington will cater for “Unified Communications, Security and Cloud Services” and would reach out to all cities across India, adding reach and presence portfolio of Microsoft.

Rajiv Sodhi, Director, India SMB, Microsoft, said, “We are delighted to introduce our global Value Added Distributor programme to the Indian market. Our partners, Avnet and Redington both have experience and expertise in the providing services and products for Virtualization, Unified Communications, Security and Cloud and we are confident that they will help us strengthen our support to customers, specifically in for small and mid-enterprises to capture increased market share.”

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
