Sony to lay off 10,000 Workforce

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE

According to sources, Sony is said to trim its global workforce by 10,000 workers, or about 6 percent of its entire workforce by as early as this year. The move is expected to improve operational efficiency, while accelerating the company's shift toward mobile devices.

The cuts are in response to mounting losses in Sony's TV business. The new cuts are expected to affect all of Sony's groups, ranging from development, to production, to management - both foreign and domestic.
