ZTE wins Viettel 2G/3G Network Contract
ZTE has announced that it has won a national 2G/3G wireless network project in Peru with mobile operator Viettel. During the first phase of the project, ZTE will build more than 2,000 base stations.
As part of the contract, ZTE will provide its innovative Uni-RAN solution to Viettel. This solution includes a series of products based on SDR technology which can combine multiple modes and evolve to next-generation networks seamlessly. ZTE will also provide operation management services such as its radio network optimization network tool to Viettel. The completed network will cover all of Peru.
“In 2009, ZTE became Viettel’s first 3G networking equipment supplier in Vietnam. We are excited to help Viettel enter the South American market for the first time and we are confident that this new contract will help it grow further in the region,” said Pu Yingchun, GSM/UMTS Product Lines General Manager, ZTE.
