WeChat celebrates V Day with users
In a unique Valentine's Day initiative, Tencent has created 15.5 x 15.5 feet QR code cake at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on Valentine’s Day to promote WeChat
Chef M. Mustafa of Bon-Bon bakery took 14 hours to prepare this QR code cake. It occupied an area of 240.5 square feet on the ground floor, and was getting scanned by smartphones. On scanning the cake, visitors were able to download the WeChat app on their smartphones, and two lucky couples got a chance to cut the huge cake. Other visitors also enjoyed a piece of the cake with their spouse and close friends on Valentine’s Day.
Rahul Razdan of WeChat India, said, “With this initiative, we are happy that WeChat created the country’s biggest QR code pattern, which visitors in the mall could scan and download WeChat on their smartphones. We believe QR codes are a significant tool for mobile Internet users to connect. This is one of the several out-of-the-box initiatives we’ve launched to engage with our existing and potential users and offering them a new way to connect”......See More
