VMware further expands Its Operations in Pune

The expansion will allow VMware to accommodate an additional 185 employees who will contribute to VMware's innovations in R&D. The Pune centre currently employs 200 employees who play a key role in supporting VMware’s global operations.
VMware's centre in Pune has seen consistent growth through both hiring and acquisitions and has emerged as a key hub for innovation in the areas of network and security virtualization for VMware globally. In March, VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger announced a multi-year investment of $120 million to fund the company's expansion in Bangalore. VMware established a presence in India in 2005 and today serves about 3,000 customers, employs some 2,000 staff and works with 100 partners. VMware(NYSE:VMW) has reportedly announced expansion of its operations in Pune. The company has leased an additional area of 26,391 square feet at the Bajaj Brand view building in Wakdewadi, Pune, where VMware already has a presence.
